Style: Barrel Aged Dark Saison aged on Cherries
This is the third time we’ve released Anchor Shoes. The first time we did, it won gold in the Fruit Beer category at the Canadian Brewing Awards… most likely because it is damn delicious, but also because we fruit at 350g/L … that’s a lot. It comes through. Light acidity mixed with loads of cherries. The barrel comes through as this very non-traditional Saison warms up. The beer was aged in second-use whisky barrels for a year before it was refermented on cherries for three months.
