Classic 6.5 Gallon carboy is the perfect size for primary fermentation of a five gallon batch. The extra space in the carboy allows enough space for the krausen and prevent your air-lock getting blocked and filled with yeast. Glass carboys are the preferred fermentation vessel for homebrewers because they do not hold odours or scratch like plastic.
Tip: Glass shatters! Always use caution when cleaning do not use boiling water. Be very careful when moving carboys especially when full, check out the brewhauler.
